Our Mission and Goals
Parish Goals
(Goals define the longer term focus of the parish – defining goals provides an overall direction for the parish)
1. To use the Mission-shaped Church study to help understand the new forms, values, and needs of our society within our local area to:
- Establish a way of ministering to them in fresh expressions of church community.
- Develop fresh expressions of worship for the un-churched, and
- To raise the Christian profile and our Parish community through this ministry.
2. Develop a sustainable parish community that resourced to grow to:
- Give us solid financial resources to re-equip our buildings and worship assets for mission
- Financially support programmes of care within our Parish, Deanery and City Council Ward that forward the church's mission and our profile.
- Be a parish with financial needs because of growth, rather than because of decline
Develop fundraising activities beyond the members of Parish community
Parish Targets
(Targets are developed to provide the parish community with a clear expectation of what we need to achieve)
- Parish establishes sustainable plan to partner with surrounding parishes to create a fully functioning mission district that provides spiritual and
material resource support to each other.
- Raise up a communications coordinator in our parish to raise our profile in the local and Diocesan media - five articles published by during 2008
- To make more widely known the Norman Park Centre for a Wedding ministry - Aim to have 10 weddings through 2008
- Establish children action plan and implement initiatives identified in the plan – by May 2008
Parish operating principles:
- All parish events will require parish treasurer's financial endorsement.
NB: The operating principles have been developed to assist the various parish leaders to drive the parish in a common direction
